Welcome to the Wellworthy flock of Wiltshire Horn sheep. We are one of relatively few breeding flocks of this very versatile breed in the UK. The ultimate ‘easy care’ sheep. This old established breed is one of the few that DOES NOT NEED SHEARING, so fly strike is virtually unheard of. These are just some of the many advantages of Wiltshire Horns; making them easy to keep for commercial producers, smallholders and particularly for newcomers to sheep keeping. Our pedigree flock is registered with The Wiltshire Horn Sheep Society and all our sheep can be found in the society Flock Books, as well as on our unique,user-friendly database. Read more on our page Database. We are also registered with DEFRA’s National Scrapie Plan as a pure bred genotype blood tested flock. All our sheep carry electronic identification numbers and are certified by DEFRA as ARR/ARR (otherwise described as Type 1 or Category A [Green]). For first timers this means that our flock has attained the highest listed level of entry, the best of the best, a pure breed and has the highest level of Scrapie resistance.
